If you aren’t familiar with this record, you somehow navigated away from one of Century Media’s most prideful moments. The band completely re-recorded their impactful third release, the one that arguably put them on the map and on countless CD displays across mall stores across the world when it was released. Check out what they did with album opener “Swamped” and the infectious “Self Deception,” and if you aren’t familiar with both tracks, buckle up. Whether or not the symphonic, operatic, female fronted metal package is for you, there’s no doubt Lacuna Coil are one of the leaders of the genre. Remember, this is also the band that formed in Milan in 1994, so take that for what it’s worth if you think you have slightly more class than listening to an underground version of Evanescence.
