The band has transcended boundaries with their viral vocal hoopla, but have also managed to create a terrific technical brutal death metal release. Who would’ve thought LS needed Will Ramos to take them to the next level? While it’s really just the drums in this mix that are a bit silly and almost TOO perfect, “Pain Remains” is actually more than just a decent record. It’s succinct and more focused than “Immortal,” a record I thought was too deep and overindulgent for absolutely no reason, and highlights everything the band does well. It seems that this may be the record that gives Lorna Shore the acclaim they deserve after years of working so hard and getting burned. So many others would have thrown it all away by now, but these guys aren’t willing to let deathcore’s greatest days be behind them.
