The supergroup of metalcore heroes drop their full length strategically released after endless hype and appropriate amount of live appearances and drip fed singles. The music is a combination of what you’d expect from 3/5 of Every Time I Die’s band sandwiched with Greg Puciato’s infamous vocal delivery. It’s cool to hear the band try to meet each other halfway, where I suppose Greg’s presence brings out the Ben Weinman in Jordan Buckley’s noodling to deliver that chaotic Dillinger-esque alternative math metal with some relative structure (or was that just ETID’s schtick all along) and Puciato suddenly seems more Keith Buckley than ever. I suppose this is just what you’d expect from a band that’s comprised of all these members for the calloused ear. Or is it just my longitudinal study in this scene for over twenty five years that sees right through the looking glass, behind the curtain and three corners to the left that hears the best parts of two bands that already existed? It’s a great album, that Will Putney seemingly elevates, but aside from some sweet rock n roll, that holy grail moment I was looking for just never came. “Deliver Us From Evil” is a really cool clean lick, and the solo in “At All Times” should make newcomers and youngsters definitely want to pick up there guitar, so there was that.
